Celebrating National 211 Day

Join us this February 11 as we celebrate 211 Day—a day dedicated to raising awareness of a vital service that connects people to help when they need it most.

211 is a free, confidential service available 24/7 that connects individuals and families to essential community resources, including housing support, food assistance, healthcare, childcare, transportation, and more. With just one call, text, or web search, people can be connected to trained specialists who listen with compassion and help navigate life’s challenges.

Nationwide, the 211 network includes more than 200 partner agencies working together to assist millions of people each year. These specialists provide expert, judgment-free guidance, making it easier to find help, understand options, and take the next step toward stability.

211 Locally: By the Numbers

Here in our community, 211 has helped neighbors facing tough moments find the services they need to move forward. Whether someone is experiencing a financial crisis, housing instability, or simply doesn’t know where to turn, 211 offers a trusted starting point. Beyond one-on-one support, 211 plays a powerful role behind the scenes.

Local 211 specialists use anonymous call and web data to identify trends and emerging needs in our community. This information helps inform nonprofits, government leaders, and decision-makers so resources can be better aligned with what people actually need.

In 2025, 211 helped 6,836 people in our 4-county region access help for immediate or long-term challenges. The two top services requested were for housing and utility assistance.

You Can Help Keep 211 Strong

211 is free for the caller, but it takes a coordinated network, up-to-date data, trained professionals, and consistent funding to keep it going. When you give to United Way, you help make sure no one faces a crisis alone.

This 211 Day, consider making a gift to support this essential service. Your support helps make sure no one in our community has to face a crisis alone.  Together, we can keep help just three digits away.
