TEAM BALLARD & HARRISON

ANGIE BALLARD

Angie was born in Temple, Texas where her father was stationed in the army at Fort Hood. She moved to Michigan when she was only one year old. She is proud of her Mexican and Scottish roots. She grew up in Ithaca and has lived in Alma with her husband, Doug for the past 40 years. Angie is fluent in Spanish, in part because her abuelita lived with her family until she was 104 and refused to speak English at home. After working at the 65B District Court in Ithaca where she advanced from the probation department to Court Administrator and Magistrate she finally retired in 2017. She loves being retired and doing what she wants when she wants and this year she became a great grandma to baby Ivy!

LAURIE HARRISON

Laurie’s hometown is Flat Rock (Michigan) but she moved to Alma 29 years ago kicking and screaming. She fell in love with Alma and has been here ever since. Laurie has been a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for 29 years at MyMichigan Alma. When she was 18 years old she was in the acting company at Crossroads Village/Huckleberry Railroad where she sang, danced and robbed the train. Laurie claims to be quite the singer, although Angie has yet to hear her sing. She says after coaching high school varsity volleyball for 15 years, she lost her singing voice. Fortunately, this evening is all about dancing for her, not singing!
